First Stretch Goal Announced: The Tomb of Ten Thousand Traps
6 months ago – Mon, Oct 13, 2025 at 07:03:00 PM

Hey folks,

In November, my crew in Dallas, Texas, BGG.Con will run a tournament adventure called the Tomb of Ten Thousand Traps. Does it really have 10,000 Traps? Nah, but it sure does sound cool.

This full-length hardcover book will feature 75 pages of absolute old-school trap-lovin' doom, just as the forefathers of tabletop RPGs intended.

When this campaign hits $25,000, so long as you backed at least the digital level, you will receive a free PDF copy of the book when we release it in December 2025, after we run it at BGG Con. The hardcover copy will be available, too, as an add-on with free shipping to the US, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, and France. Standard shipping will be applied to the rest of the world, and we won't be able to combine shipping since it will likely go out *after* the other books. However, if we get behind on Just Passing Through, and it's ready at the same time, we'll combine shipping for our non-US friends. The PDF will also be available as an add-on for folks who don't back at least at the digital level.

Anyway, this should be pretty exciting. It'll feature maps from our friend Tim Hartin and many fun traps, both for OSR and 5e rules sets.

I look forward to hitting this goal with all of you!

- Dave

PS For those worried that I'm adding on too much, don't worry—this was already booked and in the works long before this campaign. I'm just sneaking it in as an achievement. ;)

Two more villages for you to grab and read (only 8 days left to back!)
6 months ago – Mon, Oct 13, 2025 at 10:14:17 AM

Hey friends,

Here are the villages that we've shared and posted so far on the Patreon. These are free for you to download and use, and will appear in the final books.

Havenmoor: https://www.patreon.com/posts/free-just-and-140779026
Highgate: https://www.patreon.com/posts/free-just-140852655

Enjoy!

If you haven't already downloaded the others on the Patreon page, make sure you do so today as I will be locking those up for Patrons only and for those backing the campaign.

You still have 8 days to back!

5 More Villages on Monday (Gonna Breathe from the Sprint), but a new regional map
6 months ago – Fri, Oct 10, 2025 at 04:09:35 PM

There are a few more villages that have been shared on patreon, including a couple of my favorites from the original book series. And we'll have more, too.

I've been sprinting this week on these new versions and getting some other content done (plus a commission with our friends at Kickstarter). Now I'm going home to make dinner.

BUT!

I've made up the next map that'll be coverd in the towns book, since only four of the towns are featured on the first map. Here's the locations of the next four towns, Goldenfiends, Shadowmoor, Darklake, and Tempest Shore, as well as another major city, Veymar.

Naturally, you can place these locations anywhere that you want in your campaign world, but I've put them on a map just in case you want to run the region as it is.

Expect some light updates over the weekend, then back at it on Monday.

Early Bird ends tomorrow... (and today's village)
6 months ago – Thu, Oct 09, 2025 at 05:38:36 PM

Hey friends!

Just letting you know that Early Bird is ending tomorrow. So if you want to get the three bonus PDFs pictured below, make sure you sign up.

Also, here's a link to today's village: https://www.patreon.com/posts/free-just-and-140677298

It requires a free membership to my Patreon, but, uh... here's a secret: I give like most of my stuff away for free there, at least for the first couple weeks.

Enjoy!

Aurenvale by Dornwych Regional Map
6 months ago – Wed, Oct 08, 2025 at 10:47:47 AM

Hey folks,

The original Just Passing Through books didn't have a core setting, so this time, I decided to take a few of the extra pages and actually give it a region. This, of course, as optional, as the core conceit of Just Passing Through is that you can easily add any of the villages and towns from the book to your original setting. However, if you want a little more connectivity, you'll have it.

The map is below. And below the map are the links to all of the free content you can get so far. The first week of this campaign, I'll make these free, and then will lock 'em up for patrons and backers on this campaign.

Enjoy!
